~a slew of things... with an art-tickle to boot ~

Many warm wishes to you on a day that is slowly thawing my inner frozen bits. It has been chiilllllly up in these parts. If you are elsewhere in the world, Colorado just had some abnormally early wintry weather and lots of it. It was stunningly beautiful, but my body is appreciating the sun right now, and this, I am finding is the remarkable and much welcomed pattern here (not unlike the unveiling of what lies within).

Speaking of.. there is lots to share in regards to the wintry season of shorter days and deeper thoughts. Below are some ways to be together and to be within that might strike your fancy...

~yinadya, revolving mondays, and retreat into u

Couple few love notes from moi ~

Hi my friends. Fall is upon us.The aspens are turning, whispered messages delivered by wind of slowing down and cuddling are sent and received, and I am ambitiously heeding those instructions with a mile high smile sigh. Quite literally.Caffeine in bed, yin yoga, community silent mornings (come join us) and twisting trails through the turning leaves might be some of the sweetest things on earth. I am relishing my return to the 4 seasoned way of chronicling time and ritualizing existence. Autumn in particular, with its note of sweet solace that sails in on crisp morning air helps me return to something I did not realize I'd missed.
Below are some of the ways you can maximize your season of introspection, nourishment, return to your own mystery bits, and deep enjoyment of gravity itself.

~this coming saturday and the eloquence of silence

2 tings.....

This Saturday is our last Homegrown Yoga Boulder event!

When I went out to meet with the folks at Black Cat Farm earlier this summer, I was blown away with the intricate farming practices that they employ. Certified organic and certified biodynamic on 425 acres of sprawling farmland with mountain vistas, is a pretty picturesque way to till the soil.

Happy season of warmth my friends ~

So many warm thoughts coming your way as we head in to the warmer bits of the year - may it coincide with an uptick in the warmth of your own ticker :)
Personal unfoldings have landed me in the majesty of the Colorado Mountains, with one little toe frequently dipping down in to the soils of Mexico, and life is good.

If you find yourself in the vacinity of abruptly, absurdly, and such absolutely, rising pieces of earth, often referred to as the Flatirons this summer, please join me for any or all of the following..

MAGNIFITAS: An Alternative for your Attention

Greetings good friends~

Once again, i find myself thanking my lucky stars for this cosmic current and all of her sneaky synchronicities. I have just returned from Mexico where i was happily steeped in a cultural remembrance of those who have passed. My casa happened to be right around the corner from the town square and to my great luck, i found myself smack dab in the middle of their Day of the Dead celebrations. I ambled around the seemingly infinite number of alters so carefully adorned and constructed. It felt exceptionally rich of heart and soul to be swathed in a culture and a people that hold and revere this inevitable part of existence. I could not help but feel in deep communion with my loved ones gone by, as well as with the vast expansiveness of the mystery. I so appreciate the continued ceremony and overt awareness that weaves another dimension in to day-to-day living.

Leapin' Luvinz: Month In Review

February most always puts a skip in my step. There are vdays and bdays and the ever-entertaining question- to leap or not to leap. And sure, we're only dealing with the accumulation of a slight excess in time, but golly it's nice to jump on board the metaphor and saddle up for a grand leap into the unknown, cuz.... well, why not?

This year has provided even more bounce for me than the average. I've cocooned myself in, as i am like to do 'round this time, taken a peek forward and back, integrated any stragglers that i have the honor of finding, and proceeded on my way. What i've been peering in to of late is an overwhelming sense of love and i have an inkling about the why on that:

Coming to a town near you... Philly, NY, NJ, NC, CO, Jupiter...

Greetings fellow human beings.

Hoping you are all feeling snug in your bones.
It is a rainy October evening over here, and we are, unmistakably on the brink yet again. The meditation of the seasons and learning that o-so-repetitive lesson of impermanence... one of these days i'll get it.. maybe.. only to have it disappear, transmute, gone again. Sly little fox.. Shifty sand through the fingers of time. Ahhhh well......

Sum sum summertime

Happy sum-sum-summertime, one and all yall!
I hope you are all enjoying the expansive, sprawling nature of this season. Here down in the caklickitylak, a deluge of rain left things victoriously verdant and cool, but now we have turned a corner and the summer that I had prepped for, has unmistakably arrived. O sweet southern inferno. I figure there is no way around this bloody mess, this heat beyond heats, except straight dab through the bulls-eye middle. And so, I have put together a series of my absolute favorites so we can just dive right in and enjoy. Chapel Hillbillyans, let's get our sweat on!

Happy Prevernal Explosion

Dearest Everyone,

As the green scrambles to the surface and chlorophyll churns up energy out of light, i wish you all, similar moments of SUCH magical proportions.

If you are in the Chapel Hill area, i would love to see you for class at Triangle Yoga (where you can track the trees expanding and watch spring-time clouds saunter by, overhead), and if you are elsewhere, stay tuned for a follow-up email with workshops that may very well be in your area.

Back to School

Greetings everybody...
Ahhh.. these last languid lazy days of summer are slowly coming to a close and rolling right into the energy of back to school. I have to confess- the inner dork in me (which makes up the greater percentage of my innard divisions- if not all), is positively in LUV with the feeling- Penn's campus is all abuzz, the kids in the neighborhood are going out for school supplies and donning their backpacks with eager gusto - ok, quite possible that the latter is sprinkled with a little envious projection... but... you know what i mean.. It is hard not to get swept up in the energy of learning. And why resist?? Bring it on, i say!! So beautiful the turning of the seasons and allllll that they carry with them. And it is not only the electric energy of ignited craniums that gets me going.. it is also the little details hinted at in nature as transition approaches.. like the most well-kept secret that you have suddenly become privy to.. bit by bit, little by little, this glorious unfolding. Sneaky- like a child making out with a cookie from the cooling rack- she stealthfully shape-shifts before our very eyes. I am endlessly intrigued by all of the details of this holy transfiguration. I hope you too, are enjoying the show.

Back in the Fold

Hey there yall!

It's been too too long..
How wonderful it feels just to say hi.
I wanted to drop a quick note of howdy's- to let you know i am back in the stack, and to say that I have MISSED yall- in whatever capacity it is that we connect.

I am transitioning, slowly but surely, in the blue ridge mountains of North Carolina and enjoying the spaciousness of summer down here. The steady flow of memories that are swirling through after what was an incredibly charmed trip, to say the very least, renders me speechless. India was.... well, perhaps, i will tell you with a dance...

As the Fiddlehead Unfurls

...Last Sunday, on a hike with some dear friends,  I caught a glimpse of these majestic little creatures peaking out of the earth and readying themselves for the explosion of their lifetime.. Quite literally.

Many of you in class may be familiar with my fascination (ok- admitted- verge on obsession) with, the cutest of the cute- fiddlehead fern. And what’s not to love?-

One of nature’s most hypnotically stunning architectures, the spiral. The structure that supports the softly explosive uncoiling of life, from the base to the apex. And reaching further out from there into space. Extending inwards and outwards simultaneously- reflecting on its own nature AND extending beyond. An exploration and a craving for the unknown.

Spring 'n luv 'n stuff

Dearest Women of Philadelphia
(or gents, feel free to pass along..),

The undeniable murmurings of spring are percolating underfoot and and it all seems so very appropriately timed as we reach our halfway mark in the Ladies Luv Sessions. The seeds of wisdom we've been planting are germinating, sprouting, and provoking so much growth alongside the springtime emergence of new life, it seems. It has been quite a remarkable sensation. If you have been thinking of joining us, there is still time.. swing on through for one or both of our final sessions. It has been an incredible group of women diving into some powerful practices and standing with and for one another as we do so.

The Wisdom of Winter

Happy winter, all.

What a time. I luv this season because I luv every last excuse to cuddle in and well, do just that, cuddle. Into myself, into a book, you name it. Winter is such a beautiful season for bringing that much needed balance to our hectic and busy lives. One of the best ways to truly learn this turning inward is to look to the stunning examples that surround us in the natural world- everything gathering inward so that rebirth and the explosive expansion of life might be possible. And just as nature makes herself sparse and simple in these moments, we too, can relinquish our outward sprawling expressions and instead look inward- towards our little wise bits that lay quietly inside.

Harvest Retreat Tickler

ibernating are quickly approaching...

Autumn is a rich time of transition: the weather changing from stormy to sun-streaming and back again, calling us to frolic ferociously in the bursting colors of fall foliage, and then sending us running inside with chilly ears and noses!

Perhaps it is time for you to carve out some space for yourself to unwind, recharge, let go, drop in, and allow life's little accumulated stressors to dissolve away. If that is in fact the case, come join me, to tuck ourselves away into Pendle Hill's beautiful retreat center and into the magnificent beauty that is fall. There's nothing like a little time-out to take us deeper in our practice, to allow our overall well-being to thrive, and to bring us back to our lives renewed, rejuved and rejuiced!
